Nuchal Translucency Registration

**NOTICE June 12, 2012**
We are trying to improve our communication with all sonographers and supervisors in the province.  Even if you are currently registered with Prenatal Screening to provide NT measurements, please click on the link below to provide us with your up-to-date contact information.  The registration page also includes options for existing sonographers and supervisors.
Information for new Registrants:
The four laboratories that carry out prenatal screening in Ontario for Down Syndrome and other aneuploides have begun to apply more stringent quality provisions to the nuchal translucency (NT) measurements used in the calculation of screen risk. The laboratories now accept the NT measurements of sonographers and sonologists not previously accredited only if they have:
  1. Completed the specific training given by the Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF) at www.fetalmedicine.com (both theoretical and practical components) and obtained an individual FMF certification number
    -AND-
  2. Submitted a total of 15 NT measurements acquired over the CRL range (provided on the application form) to evaluate whether the NT-CRL distribution follows the expected pattern.

You will be informed whether the distribution of your submitted data is acceptable. Occasionally, the assessment of your distribution might require that you submit additional NT/CRL measurements.

The link below will take you to the BORN Ontario website, where you will be asked to provide your contact information, including email address.  You will then be sent an application form to complete and fax to a SINGLE prenatal screening lab along with a copy of your FMF certificate.  If your application is successful, you will be added to the roster of sonographers for all prenatal screening labs in Ontario.
Please click HERE to provide your contact information or to apply to submit NT measurements for the purposes of Prenatal Screening.
